Vajra Yoginī Retreat, the « Diamond Yoginī »

Saturday 14 – Sunday 22 August 2021

Vajra Yoginī (tib. Dorje Neljorma),the « Diamond Yoginī

Drikung Kagyu Mila Rechen Center

Ḍākinī of Principal Wisdom of the Tantra-Mothers of the Anuttarayoga-Tantra where she serves as a visualization medium in Dzogrim practices, Vajrayoginī is one of the most important election deities (Tib. Yi-dam) in Tibetan Buddhism.

A feminine manifestation of Transcendent Wisdom (Prajñā), she embodies Passion and Compassion, the Nature of the Matrix that generates all phenomena. The proper essence of the Tantras of Heruka Cakrasaṃvara, whose Consort she is, she is sometimes identified with Tārā or with a Buddhist representation of Shakti.

There are many manifestations of Vajrayogini: in particular, the Kagyüpa school practices the form called (Tib.) Nāro Khatchöma, related to the six yoga of Nāropa, but also Vajravārahī, (Tib. Dorje Phagmo), « the Adamantine Goat, » from the ancient Tantra tradition, recognizable by a small boar’s hoof above her right ear.
Vajrayoginī is also visualized in many Guru Yoga where the practitioner assumes this feminine form, a symbol of wisdom and receptivity, to receive blessings and empowerments from the Master.

The initiation and retreat with Khenpo K. Tashi Rinpoche will focus on Vajravārahī.
